“There is beauty everywhere on the express condition that there is an eye capable of recognizing it.” — Jean-Henri Fabre
This major project explores the life cycle of the Blue Morpho butterfly through a carefully constructed visual system that translates complex scientific information into an accessible and engaging narrative.
Focusing on the stages of egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly, the book communicates the underlying biochemical processes through a combination of typography, colour, illustration, infographics, and photography. The design approach prioritizes clarity, rhythm, and intuitive navigation, allowing non-specialist audiences to understand and appreciate the intricacies of metamorphosis.
By bridging science and visual communication, the project demonstrates how design can expand understanding, reveal hidden structures, and bring attention to the beauty embedded in natural systems.
